Welcome to the Master of Science in Finance Program
I am pleased to welcome you to the MSF program at Gies Business. You have made an important investment in your future, and our faculty and staff are committed to helping you make the most of it.
What excites me most about our MSF program is the flexibility it gives you to customize your curriculum based on your interests and career goals. Through our concentrations and specializations, you can take a coherent sequence of courses to build expertise in asset management, corporate finance, accountancy, data analytics and fintech, quantitative finance, or finance research.
During your time here, I encourage you to stay curious, be proactive, and be open to exploring new opportunities. Through your coursework, you can deepen your knowledge of finance in areas such as investments and corporate finance, while also building technical skills in financial modeling, programming, data analytics, and machine learning to prepare for a financial industry that continues to evolve. Through the MSF Practicum, you can apply what you learn in the classroom to a semester-long, hands-on project sponsored by a company, with guidance from a faculty mentor.
Professional development is also an important part of the MSF experience. Through the MSF Academy, you will engage with alumni and industry professionals, practice networking and interviewing, explore different professional paths, and prepare for the next chapter of your career.
Again, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you and wish you a very productive year.
