Workshop FAQs
What if I'm late?
Students who arrive after the scheduled start time may lose their reserved seat to students on the waiting list.
Is there a waiting list?
If a workshop is full, students may attend standby by arriving at least 10 minutes before the workshop begins.
What happens if I miss a workshop?
Students who repeatedly register but fail to attend or cancel may lose future registration privileges.
What is the cancellation policy?
Workshop registrations must be canceled at least eight hours before the scheduled start time.
Can workshops be canceled?
Occasionally. Workshops with low enrollment, instructor conflicts, or software issues may be canceled.
Professional Development Certificates
The Market Information Lab offers certifications that provide hands-on experience with industry software used throughout the finance profession. Certificates are issued and managed by each software provider after all required modules and assessments have been completed.
Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC)
Bloomberg Market Concepts is an approximately eight-hour, self-paced e-learning course that introduces the financial markets through Bloomberg data, news, analytics, and television.
Topics include: Economics, Currencies, Fixed Income, and Equities
Getting Started: Students may complete the certification in the lab or remotely using their Illinois account.
