Business Core Requirements

Complete the Business Core requirements that align with the year you began at Illinois. Intercollegiate transfer students (ICTs) should follow the Core that aligns with the year they began at Illinois, not the year they began with Gies College of Business.

Students entering Fall 2021 and later
Complete all of the following (57-59 credit hours)

• BUS 101: Professional Responsibility and Business
• BUS 201: Business Dynamics
• BUS 301: Business in Action
• BUS 401: Business in a Global Perspective
• CMN 101: Public Speaking (waived if completing CMN 111 & CMN 112)
• CS 105: Intro to Computing: Non-Tech or STAT 107: Data Science Discovery^
• Business Core Math: Choose one from STAT 100, MATH 115, MATH 220 or 221, MATH 234, or MATH 231#
• ECON 102: Microeconomics Principles~
• ECON 103: Macroeconomic Principles~
• ACCY 201: Accounting & Accountancy I
• ACCY 202: Accounting & Accountancy II
• FIN 221: Corporate Finance
• BADM 210: Business Analytics I*
• BADM 211: Business Analytics II*
• BADM 275: Introduction to Operations and Supply Chain Management
• BADM 310: Management and Organizational Behavior
• BADM 320: Principles of Marketing
• BADM 300: The Legal Environment of Business
• BADM 449: Business Policy and Strategy

^Students pursuing a +DS major must complete STAT 107. CS 105 may be fulfilled by certain AP or IB scores.
